A raised ride height and standard All-Wheel Drive provide extra confidence in bad driving conditions. Off-Road mode recalibrates the car's responses to make off-road driving easier.
With a choice of drive modes, the V90 Cross Country offers different driving experiences to match the road ahead, or your mood. Switching between settings alters the characteristics of the engine, gearbox, steering, brakes, stability control system and engine stop/start. The V90 Cross Country offers an Off-Road driving mode, allowing for all-road capability with AWD. Comfort mode sets the car up for comfort, Dynamic sharpens the responses and Eco maximizes efficiency. The fifth mode, Individual, allows you to combine characteristics to create a drive tailored to you.
The focus of the V90 Cross Country powertrain is lightweight design, performance, efficiency and a great driving experience. The T6 AWD is both Supercharged and Turbocharged, with 316-hp and 296 lb/ft of torque.
See and be seen with the LED headlights in the V90 Cross Country. The T-shaped light signature clearly identifies the V90 Cross Country as one of the new generation of Volvo Cars. LED Illumination technology automatically switches between dipped and full beam, for maximum illumination without dazzling other road users. Range-topping full-LED Active High Beam Illumination goes further, by adapting the light pattern to allow you to use full beam, safely, all the time. And, to give a better view through corners, it includes Active Bending Lights that turn in the same direction as the steering wheel by as much as 30˚ in either direction.
The V90 Cross Country comes standard with a panoramic moonroof that extends over the rear seats – so everyone in the car benefits from enriching natural light. The front section of the roof tilts and opens for extra ventilation, and a powered sunshade keeps the interior cool.
The V90 Cross Country is full of thoughtful touches to make loading and carrying easier. Four metal eyelets in the floor provide lashing points to secure cargo, and a load net helps to secure loose objects. Shopping bag hooks and a bag holder that folds out of the floor stop bags from sliding around the load compartment. And the tailgate comes with a hands-free option, allowing you to open it by moving your foot under the rear bumper.
In the V90 Cross Country, technology helps to make journeys relaxing and more enjoyable. The digital driver display puts important information directly in front of you, and automatically adjusts brightness to the surrounding light conditions to reduce strain on the eyes. An optional head-up display projects information onto the windscreen, reducing the need to take your eyes off the road. A voice control function that recognizes natural speech allows you to operate climate control, navigation, media and phone just by talking to it.
The 360˚ Camera available for the V90 Cross Country helps to make parking easier by giving you a bird’s-eye view of your car and its immediate surroundings. It’s especially useful when negotiating tight spaces and allows you to see the car’s position in relation to its surroundings. The surround view from the four wide-angle lens cameras appears on the center touch screen and is available at speeds up to 6mph.
Hear every detail with range-topping Bowers & Wilkins audio in the V90. This high-quality audio system delivers clarity and realism through 15 speakers, including a unique subwoofer that draws air in from outside the car to create deeper, more resonant bass. Three different room modes – Studio, Individual Stage and Gothenburg Concert Hall – allow you to tailor the sound to your music or mood. Stainless steel speaker grilles with the Bowers & Wilkins logo and trademark yellow speaker cones make this a system that looks as good as it sounds.
City Safety helps to protect people inside and outside the V90 Cross Country by looking out for potential danger and reacting to it if necessary. Radar and camera technology identify potential hazards such as other vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians and large animals ahead, day or night. If City Safety detects an imminent collision it warns you. If you don't react in time, the brakes are applied automatically to help avoid or mitigate a collision. City Safety also includes Steering Support, which helps you to steer away from danger as effectively and safely as possible.
Run-off road Mitigation helps to make accidents where a vehicle leaves the road less likely to happen. It detects if the car is about to leave the road unintentionally between 40mph and 87mph and can use steering and braking to guide the car back onto the right path. If the car does leave the road, Run-off Road Protection reduces the chances of serious injury. The structure of the front seat frame absorbs the impact of a hard landing, while optional prepared safety belts automatically tighten to hold front seat occupants in place.
Please note: the driver is responsible for how the car is controlled at all times.
