Lane Keeping Aid

This feature assists you at speeds above 65 km/h (40 mph). If you're about to cross a lane marking without using the indicator, the vehicle will gently steer you back into the lane. If the steering intervention is not enough or you keep steering across the lane markings, you'll be alerted with vibrations in the steering wheel. Please note: The driver is always responsible for how the vehicle is controlled – this is only a supportive function.

Pilot Assist

Pilot Assist provides smooth, intuitive driving from a standstill up to highway speeds. It helps you maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you by adapting your speed while helping to keep you centered in the lane by making small steering adjustments. In stop-and-go traffic, your vehicle can follow the vehicle ahead and brake automatically to a standstill when needed. If the vehicle in front only stops briefly, your Volvo can start following it as it takes off again. And if you become distracted and don't notice that the traffic ahead of you is moving, the vehicle can alert you so that you can resume driving. When the system deactivates, you are notified by a discreet vibration in the steering wheel. And if the vehicle doesn't sense any driver action after repeated alerts, it can automatically slow down to a full stop, activate the hazard warning flashers and connect with emergency services. Pilot Assist is part of Driver assistance. Please note: The driver is always responsible for how the vehicle is controlled as well as for maintaining the correct distance and speed, even when Pilot Assist is being used. Advanced driver assist systems, such as Pilot Assist, are restricted in how much acceleration, braking and steering force they can apply.
