Hill Descent Control

Hill Descent Control offers controlled descents on steep, rough and slippery roads. When activated, it helps you descend smoothly from 8 to 40 km/h (5 to 25 mph) using engine braking or, if needed, by braking each wheel individually – you just have to steer. You can brake anytime or, if you prefer, accelerate to adapt the speed. The smooth accelerator characteristics of Hill Descent Control also make it easier to drive off when towing a heavy trailer or a boat up a ramp. It also works in reverse gear.

CleanZone with air purifier

CleanZone lets you and your passengers enjoy clean, healthy cabin air. It monitors incoming air and can shut the passenger compartment's air intakes if harmful substances are detected. A multifilter helps reduce levels of dust, pollen, particles and chemical odors. And to prepare a fresh passenger compartment environment on a warm day, the automatic CleanZone helps ventilate the passenger compartment when you unlock the vehicle. The system also features our advanced air purifier that helps reduce or eliminate the levels of health-impairing fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) inside the passenger compartment. A Volvo world first, this technology traps these extremely small particles in a filter and can stop up to 95% from entering the passenger compartment. The levels of PM 2.5 particles in the passenger compartment are constantly monitored by an optical sensor and shown in the center display. You can also compare the PM 2.5 levels in the passenger compartment with those outside the vehicle. Using the Volvo Cars app, you can even pre-clean the air in the passenger compartment and access information on interior air quality before entering the vehicle.

Graphical Head-Up Display

The brightness of the head-up display adapts automatically to current light conditions, and you can set the system to suit your own personal preferences and link it to the memory function for the power-operated seat. Adaptive Cruise Control

Please note: The driver is always responsible for how the vehicle is controlled – this is only a supportive function.

Pilot Assist

Pilot Assist provides smooth, intuitive driving from standstill up to highway speeds. It helps you maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you by adapting your speed while helping to keep you centered in the lane by making small steering adjustments. In stop-and-go traffic, your vehicle can follow the vehicle ahead and brake automatically to a standstill when needed. If the vehicle in front only stops briefly, your Volvo can start following it as it takes off again. And if you become distracted and don't notice that the traffic ahead of you is moving, the vehicle can alert you so that you can resume driving. When the system deactivates, you are notified by a discreet vibration in the steering wheel. And if the vehicle doesn't sense any driver action after repeated alerts, it can automatically slow down to a full stop, activate the hazard warning flashers and connect with emergency services. Pilot Assist is part of Driver assistance. Please note: The driver is always responsible for how the vehicle is controlled as well as for maintaining the correct distance and speed, even when Pilot Assist is being used. Advanced driver assist systems, such as Pilot Assist, are restricted in how much acceleration, braking and steering force they can apply.
