Shift-by-wire single speed transmission

You can enjoy a smooth, seamless flow of power that adds to a very comfortable, controlled and intuitive driving experience without any gear changes. All gear shifter positions are conveniently operated using the gear shifter stalk close to the steering wheel. Shift-by-wire technology allows you to easily shift between Reverse, Neutral and Drive with one single movement. From here you also operate Parking mode with electric parking brake.

Chassis with FSD dampers

Sophisticated chassis design with double-wishbone front suspension and 5-link rear suspension provides ideal conditions for pleasant and inspiring driving. The dampers use innovative FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) technology to help balance comfort and performance, with the capacity to smoothen out even small road disturbances. Drive modes

The drive modes make it easy to adapt the car's performance and efficiency to suit your needs. The standard default mode gives a good balance between performance, drivability, comfort and energy consumption. When range and energy efficiency are your top priorities, you can always enable range mode. And for enhanced road grip in challenging conditions there's an off-road mode. This mode also activates hill descent control for more relaxed driving at steep slopes. All settings are easily accessible on the center display.

Born-electric architecture

The EX60 is the first Volvo built on our next-generation electric architecture. Every element, from structure to software, is designed to make the car lighter, stronger and more efficient.

Megacasting forms large sections of the body from a single piece of aluminum. It replaces hundreds of smaller parts, cutting complexity and waste while improving strength and precision. Cell-to-body integration builds the battery directly into the car’s structure. It lowers the weight and material usage, boosts range and performance, and frees up more space inside the cabin.

Wheel designs

The steering wheel feels responsive and light to the touch. Its two-spoke shape, with a flat top and bottom, helps keep the driver display in clear view and your focus comfortably forward.

USB-C ports

In the car there are four USB-C ports for quick charging of your mobile devices. The front seat occupants have access to two USB-C ports behind the glove box lid. And for the rear seat passengers, there are two USB-C ports at the rear of the front center console. The output power of 18W and 60W give short charging times. The ports are illuminated so you can easily find them when it's dark.

Air purifier and remote cabin pre-cleaning

Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is a health-impairing air pollutant. By efficiently helping to reduce the levels of PM2.5 inside your Volvo, our air purifier contributes to a clean cabin environment. This advanced technology traps these extremely small particles in a filter and can stop up to 99% from entering the cabin. This filter also efficiently reduces levels of pollen, viruses and gases such as hydracarbons, nitrogen dioxide and ozone. The levels of particles and other harmful substances in the cabin are constantly being monitored by an optical sensor and shown in the center display. You can also compare the levels in the cabin with those outside the car. Using the Volvo Cars app, you can even pre-clean the cabin air and access information on interior air quality before entering the car.

Rear center armrest with cupholders/storage

The foldable padded center armrest enhances long-distance comfort in the rear seat. Under a folding lid, there’s a full-size cupholder for two or three cups or cans (depending on size), or small items like toys. When the cup holder lid is open, two mobile phones can also be leaned against it for easy access. The folded rear center armrest also reveals a practical integrated hook above the armrest for a small bag or similar. At the rear of the center console, there’s a removable and easy-to-clean small box that can be used for storage of small items or as a waste bin.

Lane keeping aid

This supportive function helps prevent the car from accidentally leaving its lane. If the driver for example is distracted and is about to cross a lane marking without using the indicator, the car can gently steer back into the lane. If the steering intervention is not enough, the car can also alert with vibrations in the steering wheel.

Pedestrian and cyclist steering avoidance

We designed this function to enhance safety for unprotected road users on rural roads with no pavement. If you for example don't spot a cyclist traveling in the car's direction on a straight country road with clearly visible road marks and there's risk of a collision, the car can actively steer away from the cyclist as long as the car does not cross the lane markings. This function can detect pedestrians, cyclists, and scooters.

Road Sign Information

Road sign information helps keep you updated on speed limits and other traffic restrictions. It alerts on speed limits, important prohibition signs and various types of supplementary signs. The actual road sign is shown in the driver display. If you exceed the speed limit, Road sign information can alert you with a flashing speed limit sign icon and sound. And if driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street, you will be alerted with a no-entry sign icon and an audible signal.

360° camera with 3D view

This convenient feature creates a 360° birds-eye high-resolution view of the car and its surroundings. This view also includes onscreen graphics that show the car's intended route to facilitate maneuvering in confined areas. Split screen technology further improves overview by showing both a 360° bird's view and a close to 180° rear or front view together with a virtual surround view at the same time – you no longer have to switch between views while maneuvering your car. And for an even better camera view, you can choose to see the car and its surroundings in intuitive 3D. Anytime, you can also select a view from any of the car's four high-resolution cameras. On-screen guiding lines are shown to make it safer and more convenient to reverse or park the car. The 360° camera activates automatically when selecting reverse gear. It can also be manually activated via the center display as well as automatically activated when approaching an obstacle.
